If you live on the Northshore and you have kids, you already know that a water slide rental can take a backyard birthday party from “that was fun” to “BEST DAY EVER.” 🎉
We’ve been delivering water slides all over St. Tammany Parish since 2019, and every summer the same thing happens: parents wait too long to book, their date is gone, and we have one very sad kid on their hands.
This guide is here to fix that.
Whether you’re planning a birthday party in Covington, a neighborhood hangout in Madisonville, or a big end-of-school bash in Mandeville, here’s everything you need to know before you book a water slide rental on the Northshore.
Water Slide Rentals on the Northshore: The Honest Guide
Let’s talk about what actually matters when you’re shopping for a water slide rental: size, safety, setup, and not getting burned on a sold-out weekend.
We’ll cover all of it.
Meet the Tiki Plunge: The Northshore’s Favorite Water Slide
If you’ve been to a party on the Northshore in the last few years and there was a massive water slide in the backyard, there’s a good chance it was our Tiki Plunge.
27 feet tall. 75 feet long. Dual lanes so two kids race down at the same time.
It is, without question, the most requested water slide we own. Kids lose their minds over it. Adults lose their minds over it. We’ve had more than a few dads “test it for safety reasons” about 15 times in a row. LOL.
The Tiki Plunge needs a good-sized yard, so if you’re in one of those neighborhoods with half-acre lots near Madisonville or out toward Abita, you’re probably in great shape. If you’re not sure whether it fits, just send us a rough measurement and we’ll tell you straight.

How Big Is The Jump Off’s Water Slide Fleet?
We’re not a one-slide operation.
The Jump Off currently has over 40 water slides available for rent across St. Tammany Parish. That includes everything from smaller combo units that work great for toddler and younger kid parties, all the way up to the Tiki Plunge and our other 27-foot dual-lane monsters.
Here’s a rough breakdown of what we carry:
Combo Bounce Houses with Water Slides These are the workhorses. A bounce house with an attached slide that can run wet or dry. Great for mixed ages, smaller yards, and parties where you want the bouncing AND the sliding without renting two separate units. Most Northshore moms call these “the combos” and they are consistently our most rented category all summer long.
Mid-Size Water Slides Not everyone has a yard that fits a 75-foot slide, and that’s totally fine. Our mid-size slides are still a massive hit with kids, easier to fit in tighter spaces, and a great option if your party skews toward the younger crowd.
Large and XL Water Slides This is where the Tiki Plunge lives. If you want a wow factor that the whole neighborhood talks about, this is your category. These also work great for school field days, church events, and neighborhood block parties where you need something that can handle a lot of kids.

Water Slide Rental Prices on the Northshore
Pricing varies based on the size of the unit, the length of the rental, and the time of year.
Here’s what you need to know as a baseline:
- Combo bounce house and water slide units typically start around $200 to $299 for a full day rental
- Mid-size dedicated water slides typically run $299 to $399
- Large and XL slides like the Tiki Plunge run $399 and up depending on the event
Peak weekends like the 4th of July and Memorial Day weekend sometimes carry premium rates due to demand. We’re not trying to nickel and dime anyone, but when we’re running 20 deliveries in one day, the operational costs go up.

When Should You Book a Water Slide Rental on the Northshore?
Here’s the honest answer: earlier than you think. If you wait until the week of the event….GOOD LUCK! 😂
May is absolutely massive for us. Once that first hot weekend hits, every parent on the Northshore suddenly remembers they have a birthday coming up and the phones don’t stop. June stays busy. July 4th weekend is our Christmas, no exaggeration. We are fully booked weeks in advance and turning people away.
The busy season runs from May through early August, when school starts back around the 10th.
Our general recommendation:
- May, June, and July parties: Book 3 to 4 weeks out minimum
- July 4th weekend specifically: Book as early as possible. Seriously.
- August through April: Usually more flexible, but weekends still fill up faster than people expect
If you’ve got a date in mind, go ahead and lock it in. You can always adjust details later, but you can’t get your Saturday back once it’s gone.

Where Can You Set Up a Water Slide in Madisonville and the Northshore?
This is one of the most common questions we get, and the answer is usually: more places than you think.
Backyard grass setups are our bread and butter. Most of the Northshore has real yards, not the postage-stamp lawns you see in other parts of Louisiana. Big yards mean big slides, and we love it.
Driveways and hard surfaces work too. Instead of ground stakes, we use sandbags to anchor the unit. The one thing to keep in mind is that if your water slide has a deep splash pool, we’ll need padding underneath it when it’s on a hard surface. We bring that automatically, so don’t stress about it.
Parks. This one is unique to us. The Jump Off is one of the only inflatable rental companies in St. Tammany Parish that regularly sets up at Fairview Riverside State Park in Madisonville. If you’re planning a party at the park, we know the drill. Just let us know when you book so we can coordinate.
Churches and schools are a big part of what we do. We handle events for First Baptist Covington, Church of the King in Mandeville, Madisonville Elementary, Lancaster Elementary, and a bunch of others. If you’re an events coordinator or PTA chair reading this, give us a call.
Water Slide Safety: What Every Northshore Parent Should Know
Safety is never the boring part of this conversation. Here’s how we handle it.
Anchoring. On grass, we use ASTM F2194-compliant steel stakes. On driveways or concrete, we use sandbags. The slide does not leave the ground unsecured.
Wind and weather. At 20 mph sustained winds or 25 mph gusts, inflatables come down. That’s industry standard and we follow it. Louisiana weather can turn fast and we monitor it the morning of every delivery. If something looks sketchy, we’ll call you first.
Supervision. Our standard rental is drop-and-go setup. An adult needs to be watching the slide at all times. We offer staffed attendants as an add-on for larger events and school field days.
Height and weight limits. Every slide has posted limits and we go over them at setup. The short version: don’t mix 4-year-olds and 14-year-olds on the same slide run. Size mismatches cause most of the incidents that happen in this industry.
Insurance. The Jump Off carries full commercial general liability insurance. If your HOA, venue, or school needs a certificate of insurance, we provide that regularly. Just ask when you book.
Frequently Asked Questions: Water Slide Rentals on the Northshore
How long does it take to set up a water slide? Setup typically takes 30 to 45 minutes depending on the size of the unit and the setup location. For large slides like the Tiki Plunge, budget closer to 45 to 60 minutes. We factor this into your delivery window so the slide is ready before your guests arrive.
How much water does a water slide use? You’ll need a standard garden hose hookup. Most slides run on a continuous trickle rather than a high-pressure feed, so it won’t spike your water bill dramatically. We connect to your outdoor spigot at setup.
Can you set up a water slide on a slope? Small slopes are usually fine. We adjust staking and positioning to keep the unit level and safe. Steep grades can be a problem and we’ll tell you honestly before you book if it won’t work. If you’re unsure, send us a photo and we’ll give you a straight answer.
What’s your rain policy for water slide rentals? Rain doesn’t always cancel a water slide party (LOL, you’re already wet). Lightning and high winds do. If severe weather is in the forecast, we’ll contact you the morning of your event and work with you to reschedule. We’d rather move your date than put your family in a bad spot.
Do you deliver to my area? We deliver free to Madisonville, Covington, Mandeville, Abita Springs, Lacombe, Slidell, Folsom, and most of St. Tammany Parish. Some areas beyond the parish may have a delivery fee. Check the delivery page or enter your address at checkout for an exact answer.

Can adults use the water slides? Honestly? Yes, within the weight limits. We’re not going to pretend that zero adults end up on these things. Just follow the posted weight limits, no double-riding, and you’re good. We’ve seen some legendary dad runs down the Tiki Plunge. No further comment. 😂
